The photos of M'Bumba do not do him justice. He is a truly impressive animal in spirit and in body. M'Bumba stands at 28.5" and 150 pounds at this lean, active weight as pictured above. He is very active and has been able to clear his 6 ft kennel easily by jumping off the top of his dog house into the exercise yard next to it. MBumba joined us here in the US in the spring of 2004. A big thank you to Stoffel & LZT Bloem of Mouzer Boerboel for allowing M'Bumba to come to our home and to add him to our breeding program.
M'Bumba's registration papers state Mouzer Macoemba. We, like his prior owner, just refer to him as M'Bumba. Below you will find his SABT registration and his hip certificate. MBumba was hip tested prior to being shipped to the US by the South African method and received a 0,0 which is the best rating available by this method. An interesting sidenote is that M'Bumba carries the piebald gene. He has produced 2 piebald pups in a mating this fall (2004). We will be able to determine which of our females may also carry this gene when they are bred to him. We are always interested in the genetic makeup of our dogs as well as their physical and mental characteristics.
NOTE: We have received enough inquiries and concerns regarding the appearance of an apparent injury to MBumba's front leg and shoulder that I wanted to address this publicly. MBumba was injured as a young pup when he ran under a motor vehicle that had just been parked in the driveway - the muffler was still quite hot and he received a very nasty burn to both areas. The skin has healed completely, but there is definite scar tissue and missing hair in those areas. Rather than doctor the photos I believe honesty is best!
